With all the ongoing hype about the supposed Google Phone, many people are wondering whether or not the “gPhone” will become a reality. According to pcmag.com and the Associated Press, the internet giant has unveiled what seems to be the foundation of the future Google Phone. The software prototype itself however has much work to do even though many of the features have already been included. The phone however seems like it needs a bit more work. Although the “large-size” candy bar phone (a prototype made by Texas Instruments) features a full QWERTY keyboard and a nice wide screen display, it lacks the look that makes a phone, a cell phone.
Although at its debut in Barcelona, Spain boasted some pretty cool features as reported by the Associated Press and PCmag.com, Google Inc. is still waiting for an official release. The sooner Google can make a decision, the sooner mobile phone developers and service carriers can start their development. Due to the Android software already coming pre-built, production times for cell phones, which normally range between 16-20 months, are cut down to about on third the time, introducing a new phone with the software into the market in less than a year. Google’s latest, “we will give you $10 million dollars for cool apps…” ploy, more and more individual developers are being attracted to what, so far, has turned out to be an inviting endeavor. This developer challenge allows many individuals or groups to get together and finally contribute to the growing Google community. For more information on how to participate in this “race”, because you only have up to the 14th of April to submit your cool applications, visit the coding page at Google.
