The next-gen console wars have been going on since the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PS3, and the Nintendo Wii were released. Now, the wars seem to be coming to a close. New sales reports show that the Nintendo Wii, the user friendly and motion sensitive console, is pulling away from the pack at an alarming rate. According to a market research company, iSuppli, the number of Wii game consoles at the end of the year 2008, will displace the number of systems that Microsoft has been able to put out since they released the Xbox 360. The projected numbers put the Wii at 30.2 million units and the Xbox 360 at a projected 25.7 million units. This means that almost 6 million more Wii’s will be sold, in comparison to the 360. Lagging behind these two top-notch consoles is the PS3. Not to say that the PS3 doesn’t have superior graphics and what not, but it doesn’t have the marketing capability, placing the number of units projected to be sold at 10.2 million.
