Have any of you ever wanted a car that can both drive itself on land…AND swim underwater. That dream may just come true because Rinspeed, a specialist car manufacturer has created a concept car that can actually, drive on land, float on water, and swim under water! The model is called the “sQuba” and no it doesn’t have anything to do with “Q’ from the James Bond movies. The car tops out at 77 miles per hour on land, but then slows down to 3 miles pe hour on the surface of the water, then to 1.8 miles per hour when its actually in water. So although this may seem like its a bit slow….its a submersible car! The car, made out of ultra-light weight materials travels like a submarine and not like the military vehicles that can supposedly travel in water. To bring the car into existence, it cost about $1.5 million. the concept is set to premier at the Geneva Auto Show in March. The car will supposedly be cheaper than a Rolls-Royce, which cost about $400,000 for a 2008 model. Rinspeed has even shown the world a preview of the car in their Bond-like video shown below.
