Then you seriously need to clean up your Windows desktop when it becomes too cluttered with icons. You can clean up your desktop by organizing your icons or by changing the size of those icons.

If you just want your desktop clutter to look more organized, right-click the desktop, choose Sort By from the pop-up menu, and choose any of these choices:

Name: Arrange all icons in alphabetical order using neat, vertical rows.

Size: Arrange icons according to their size, placing the smallest ones at the top of the rows.

Type: This lines up icons by their type. All Word files are grouped together, for example, as are all links to Web sites.

Date Modified: Arrange icons by the date you or your PC last changed them.

Right-clicking the desktop and choosing the View option lets you change the icons’ size, as well as play with these desk-organizing options:

Auto Arrange: Automatically arrange everything in vertical rows — even newly positioned icons are swept into tidy rows.

Align to Grid: This option places an invisible grid on the screen and aligns all icons to the grid to keep them nice and tidy — no matter how hard you try to mess them up.

Show Desktop Icons: Always keep this option turned on. When turned off, Windows hides every icon on your desktop. If you can remember in your frustration, click this option again to toggle your icons back on.

Most View options are also available for any of your folders by clicking the folder’s View menu.

There are many ways to get quality back links for your newly created blog or site. However, those ways can cost you. Most companies offer services such as: “1000 Backlinks for $49.95.” But the thing is, why pay when you can get the same quantity (if not more) for free? I will show you one simple method to get quality, PR 1 – 10 backlinks for your online entity. The easiest method that i have encountered during my online endeavors is through directories. When you search website/blog directory in your preferred search engine (mine is Google), you will get loads of results. All you then have to do is visit each site and submit your blog/website’s information. The forms are really simple, like Name of Blog, Description, Site URL, and Category. But what if you are one of those lazy people who does not like to search alone and wants everything done for him/her…Then i have another tip. Visit the site below and you will find a HUGE list of directories, all at your fingertips. Hope this helped.

One way to do this is by getting back links. By back links, i don’t mean just any back links, i mean quality high page rank back links. By doing so, you will not only increase popularity, but you will increase the income to your blog. You can do this by searching for various directories on the internet. Directories act as basically free back links, offering you a spot on their website, while in turn gaining popularity when you search for them. One of the most popular directories is DMOZ.org. Check it out when you get a chance.

When your blog gains popularity, you will automatically gain more revenue through the various ads and revenue makers you will strategically place on your blog. Now back to increasing the monetary value of your blog. In the long run, the value can only increase, unless you make a fatal mistake that will kill the reputation of your blog. When it comes time to sell, you will just watch all the quality offers roll in.

Have you ever bought something from a store, but were unsatisfied? How about this one. A person is in thousands of dollars of debt. They call their lender, and get some of their payments cleared from their account. What about the rest of the payments? How is that person going to pay them off so quickly without penalties? This is when customer service and communication skills come in. Most people don’t know that there different ways to get things done for you. Lets go through three ways to do so.

#1. When you have been visiting a store for a long time, you expect everything to be what you want, including the price. What if, you see a lower price at another store? Then you will go into your store and ask them if you can get the same price as Store B (the other store). If they say yes, great, but what if they say, “Sorry sir/ma’am, we cant do that. Company Policy.” If that is the case, then its time for another plan. There is one thing you can do: Passively Threaten Them. No, not with weapons or physically, just a simple, passive verbal threat like so: “I heard that Store B has a better TV for a better price that your store? Do you want me to go spend my at that store instead?”

This trick traps the company almost every time. How? It works because the company does not want to lose your business to the other store. Its a simple business tactic. Often, the response is to your liking, such as: “Hello, sir/ma’am? How about if we offer you the same TV at the same price, including shipping and handling? Will that be fine?” Now is the time you say, “yes.” Do not push them too far because they are not willing to go any further.

#2. What if you bought an item and wanted a refund because it lacked something u wanted? The store you normally bought it from would normally refund your money. BUT, you were lazy and decide you want a refund after you use it and after the refund deadline has passed. Now what do you do? This time, you do not call customer service or go to the store. This time, you bother the head honchos of the company, the CEO and other top executives. How exactly do you do that?

First, you search for their emails. You can almost every CEO’s email if you search online. After you do that, send your message away. most of the time what will happen is the Elites (the super customer service people) will get the email first and respond. Almost every time you will get an email back saying that they are willing to give you the refund. Why? Because these super agents like to make customer happy, and the only way to do that is by doing what the customers want. They will also have more options, unlike basic customer service representatives, allowing you to take advantage of opportunity.

#3. Now that the important things have been covered, we can move on to the least common method. This is a very simple, yet effective method to try. It also works for both of the scenarios mentioned above. Lets say that a company/store decides not to give you the money back. All you have to do is, make fliers saying how bad the store is and how nobody should visit it. Then, make many copies of it, and go to the store. Stand in front of the store and hand out the fliers to all the customers and visitors that you see.

The company does not mind that, because they have your money already. But what about the customers that are reading your fliers and their business? This is when they company will take you seriously and make deals with you. Then, Bam! You have just succeeded in getting what YOU want.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Hope this helps those of you who have trouble getting what you want all the time. This way, you can.

It has been said over and over again that the more popular you are, the more money you will be making. Well, that is true, but sometimes it just doesnt work out for people. Most webmasters think that by advertising like crazy, making banners, paying for traffic, and by paying for directory submissions, they are doing their website good. However, those are all big mistakes. The reason is that while all those activities may increase hits to your site, the sudden influx of readers will soon realize that your site is nothing more than a revenue maker, rather than a blog/website for the people.

There are many things you can do to increase the popularity of your site. BUT, you must do them algorithmically, and in moderation. Just by thinking you will increase your website popularity and revenue will only put you at the starting line. Most webmasters are still there, but only a few have actually crossed the line and started the race.

Now, im no Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expert, but i sure know what to do and what not to do. Most webmasters do the latter. The ones that do the former, end up like big fish in the business like John Chow and Tyler Cruz. But what is the secret to their success? Sadly, i shall never know until i experience it. Blog/Website owners that wish their blogs to be like J. Chow’s in their debut days, will have to face reality. Blogs like John Chow and Tyler Cruz take time to develop and gain readership. Give your blog a couple of months before you start advertising on other websites (paying for advertising). If you start immediately, its no use, because your site:

1. May not have a PR

2. Have under 100 Visitors/ Month

3. Have no Content!

If your site meets any of those, even one of the, then your are out of luck, at least for another few months. However, don’t give up hopes yet. There are things you can do to improve your site.

First, you must write almost everyday. If you cannot make a commitment to write everyday, then make a commitment to write every other day. Anything that will increase the content size of your blog in the first few weeks or months will have a huge impact in future quarters.

Second, you must tell people about your site. Don’t just sit in front of your computer and look for ways to make money on your site. Explore your options. Often, there are sites that offer to introduce your blog to the community.

Third, you must get quality back links. Back links are links that directly link to your site from other sites of reputation. If you look for other sites with the same PR (Google’s ranking) as you, millions of sites will pop up. Just contact the administrators of those sites and make some deals with them, like reciprocal links. They put your links on their site, you put their links on your site and vice versa. Its as simple as that.

“Money for College” is a phrase that is coming up quite frequently in these days of rising gas prices, rising tuition prices, and a looming recession. However, the question still eludes most of us. How can we make money for college? Many students think that those e-mails they get about scholarships and loans are bogus and that they should not worry about that stuff right now. Those students realize how wrong they were when they realize what a financial burden college is. Today, i hope that i can enlighten some of you with tips on making money for college. There are three tips to earing those dollar bills, and i will go through each and every one of them. Lets get started!

Tip # 1: The number one thing that students neglect when searching for scholarships is the ones that offer lower sums of money. The reality about those scholarships is that they make a huge impact in your finances. All students are attracted to those scholarships offering plum amounts of money, ranging from $1,000 to $100,000 (Siemens Scholarship). While the bigger amount scholarships offer greater rewards, the chance of a student receiving them is very low due to the influx of other students applying. The key to getting scholarship money is applying for those $100, $250, and even $500 scholarships.

In the end, you will understand why you doing that was significant because that money adds up. So apply for that $500 McDonald’s scholarship your neighborhood location is offering, because chances are, most students wont even think of doing so. A great resource for scholarship information, jobs, and college, is FastWeb.com.

Tip # 2: Your school and local libraries are great sources of information pertaining to scholarships, and ways to earn money for college. Utilize them! The more information that you find, the better your chances are for earning money for college. Probably the greatest resource, waiting to be utilized, is at your school; your guidance counselor. He/she will have the most information relating to scholarships and college. Most of the time, they will inform you about scholarships that go unused every year! The tricky part is probably finding the office of your counselor. From there on, your financial problems should slowly start to decline.

Tip # 3: All i can say for this last tip is search. If you search, search, and search, i guarantee that you will have more money than you started out with in your pockets (for most of you that may be quite a lot). Don’t just explore one website, or one resource because you think it has some good information; look for more! And with that note, i will give you a list of the best websites(i think) to find scholarship information on.

List:

1. FindTuition

2. FastWeb

3. Scholarships.com

4. SchoolSoup

5. EducationConnection

Hope that helped with your monetary issues!

Here is how to do it:

Step 1: Click on the referral link below.

An iPhone for YOU

Step 2: Choose which iPhone you want FREE

Step 3: Sign up and choose an account type
(Referral method is the easiest and best option)

Step 4: Complete just one offer.
(You must complete 1 offer. Click on ‘Most Popular’ and you will see the best offers. There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly and more which are services you would regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use them to get a free iPhone or cash! Alot of them offer risk-free trials, and come from legitimate businesses, so you don’t have to worry about being scammed. I personally signed up for Blockbuster and Stamps.com. I never have to go to the Blockbuster store or post office again! This is NOT like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3 different pages, or complete many offers to qualify. You only need ONE, and a lot of these offers are FREE trials with nothing else to buy… and No commitments!!!

Step 5: Refer friends, family or strangers to do the same thing
The number of people you have to refer depends on which free package you want. I got the iPhone package, so I only had to refer 8 people. It only took me a couple days until I was having mine shipped! Posting an ad like this one will net you fast results. You can post it on your MySpace, facebook or blog or personally tell your friends to sign up by word of mouth. The choice is yours. The iPhoners are paid for by companies who compensate advertisers for providing them with new customers (you & me).

Step 6: Receive your iPhone
This is the best part!! You don’t even pay for shipping!! Honestly there is no reason not to try it. I wouldn’t be wasting my time if this didn’t work. I don’t work for some company trying to sell you something. I’m just a guy trying to get another free iPhone and show other people how to do the same.

THIS IS NOT A SCAM! It is 100% real. I have already been successful once. But you don’t have to take my word for it, feel free to do your own research! The company behind the deal is Transcendent Innovations or TraInn for short, and you can read testimonials at the link below:

http://www.trainn.org/reviews.php

Need more proof? Looking for more reviews? Search “Transcendent Innovations Proof” or “TraInn Proof” on Google!

What Is A Budget? A budget is a spending plan that includes everything you will spend money on. A good budget is a spending plan that includes everything you will spend money on and stays within your income. A wise budget includes everything you will spend money on, savings for a ‘rainy day’, savings for large purchases, giving, savings for kids, and investment for retirement and still stays within your income. I suspect the wise budget is a bit over the top for you if you’re new to budgeting. Caution! No matter how detailed your spending plan is, if it does not include everything you spend money on, or, if it does not address where you will get the money to cover all your expenses, it is not a budget.
Why Budget? I suspect you already know why or you wouldn’t be reading this. If we don’t budget, we lose control of our expenses and can’t even figure out where the money went. Worse, yet…we can’t figure out where we’ll get the money to cover that big bill we forgot was coming.

Tips On Budgeting:

Budgeting Tip 1: Get the whole picture. Start by collecting all checking account and credit card statements for the last year. Collect all cash receipts for the last month (or next month if you don’t do this). Don’t forget cash spent on co-payments, mocha’s, haircuts, etc. Now collect all receipts for financial contributions to charity, including Girl Scout cookies, etc. Collect all pay stubs, deposit receipts, etc.
Budgeting Tip 2: Record the whole picture. Use all the stuff you collected to record a ‘picture’ of what you spent last year (use a pencil and have a big eraser on hand. You can print and use our Family Budget Worksheet to make this job easier. Don’t be surprised if this takes a lot of time with a calculator and scratch paper.
Budgeting Tip 3: Check off the lines on your documents as you account for them in a budget item. That way you don’t put the same thing in more than one item and you don’t forget anything.
Budgeting Tip 4: Formulas:
Convert regular weekly pay to monthly: Weekly Pay x 4.333 = Monthly Pay
Convert bi-weekly pay to monthly: Bi-Weekly Pay x 2.167 = Monthly Pay
Convert annual totals to monthly amounts by dividing the total by 12.
Budgeting Tip 5: The Family Bills For Monthly Expenses part of the Worksheet is just for regular monthly bills, savings and investment. If insurance, for instance, is billed monthly, it would go here.
Budgeting Tip 6: If the insurance, however, is billed less often than monthly, the total annual amount would be divided by 12, and that number would be listed in the Impound Budget For Non-Monthly Expenses. Don’t forget to list the month it’s due to be paid. This ‘Impound’ section is a powerful and unique tool to save monthly for all your annual expenses and avoid those nasty surprises.
Budgeting Tip 7: Include everything you regularly pay cash for in the Cash Budget-Monthly section.
Budgeting Tip 8: After you total everything, you may be surprised to discover your expenses are larger than your income. This is normal, I’m sad to say. The amount your expenses exceed your income is the amount you add to your credit cards and other consumer credit balances every month. Note: When I did this the first time I discovered I was spending $ 250 more than my income each month. If your income is larger than your expenses, the difference is the amount you can add to savings, etc.
Budgeting Tip 9: Review your budget worksheet to see if you can spot any errors, to try and find areas where you feel your spending is excessive, and to consider if any expenses (maintenance, insurance, taxes, etc.) will increase over the next year…make necessary adjustments and re-total.
Budgeting Tip 10: Make sure you keep a savings balance for a “rainy day” that matches 6 months of your net income. After you’ve accumulated that, you can begin investing and buying some of those things you just want.
Budgeting Tip 11: Giving or donating is as important as paying a bill. Give this a try! You should have an amount designated on your family budget for giving. Even if you don’t take part in a regular charity or church giving program, make giving part of your budget. There is a great deal of evidence, from 2,900 years ago right up to the present, that what you give comes back to you multiplied. Do it for a year and see what happens.
Budgeting Tip 12: Needs-vs-Wants: One of the most powerful tools in budgeting is the ability to tell the difference between needs and wants. A significant amount of consumer credit debt, and possibly some of house payment, maintenance, even food can be wants…not needs. You must assess whether an item is a ‘need or want’ before you purchase it. We’ll cover what you do with ‘wants’ a little later. First, let’s look at some examples of ‘needs’. The ‘need’ part of a house is minimum family/dining room, parent bedroom, 1 bath, and, if required, 1 bedroom for boys and 1 for girls. The ‘need’ part of a car is what is minimally required for your regular transportation needs (some would argue that no car is a ‘need’). The ‘need’ part of your groceries is what is minimally required to sustain you and allow your children to grow. Even though I listed them as ‘not required’ expenses, cell phone and internet access are ‘needs’ only if they are required for your business and only if they are not provided by your employer. Cell phones are never ‘needs’ for children of any age. For all my spend-happy friends; cable TV, microwave, patio set, jewelry, second purse, fishing pole, Lexus, golf clubs, steak, and Christmas gifts are never ‘needs’. Your spending problem may be more than a passing season.
Budgeting Tip 13: Getting what you want: If you’re saving for your future, you have ‘rainy day’ cash and your monthly income exceeds your expenses, I have good news…you can have all your wants. If not, try this: We keep a “Wannas” list for everything we want that we can’t pay cash for. We list everything we want, along with an estimate of its price. Then, we put the list in order of most important to least important. Next, we put a regular amount in monthly savings. When our savings (over the ‘rainy day’ balance) exceeds the value of the first item, we take the money out and buy the item with cash. By saving and paying cash instead of using credit cards, you save 20% on the purchase of every item (17% credit card interest and 3% savings interest). You get an added benefit, I call the ‘cooling off period.’ By the time you save enough money for the item, you often don’t feel you want it any more. I’ll prove this to you. You know how important the things you want to buy right now are. You can name them, the color, the feel, the price. I’ll bet you even know how some of your friends will react when you show them you own it. If you think these things will be that important to you in a year, once you’ve saved for them, you’ll have no problem doing this: Take your credit card statements out and total the balances. Now, list the names and prices of the items you bought to make up those balances. Most people are paying hundreds of dollars each month for things they no longer even know they have.
Budgeting Tip 14: There is great power in budgeting future income…the increases in net income you receive due to promotion, etc. I remember I used to figure out how much my pay was going to increase, then accept a new credit card so I could charge enough to make the minimum payment increase match the increase in my net pay. This is NOT what I mean by budgeting future income. Since your increases in pay are not spent, yet, there is no better time than now to budget for them. Simply, put in writing a promise to yourself what percentage of future increases will go where. For example: 20 % to donations, 20 % to savings, 40 % to pay down debt, 10 % to recreation, 10% to investment. Until you’re debt-free, I’d suggest a large amount to pay down debt.
Budgeting Tip 15: You need more than one bank account. If everything stays in your checking account, it won’t stay long. You need to stash money in accounts you don’t use for regular expenses. In order for this budget system to work, in addition to your checking account, you need a separate account for Impound, Savings, Large Purchase Savings, and Investment. Most banks or credit unions can split these off of your basic account and allow for transferring between them (they may have different names, like Christmas Club, Money market, etc.). Have your pay go to your checking account. Then, every month, transfer the budgeted amounts for savings, investment and impound total, etc. to their respective accounts. Sometimes you can tell them how much to automatically transfer and you don’t have to worry about it. When the Impound items are due (Christmas, for instance), transfer the total amount for that item out of Impound and back into checking to pay for the item. When it’s time to buy that car, transfer the money from Large Purchase Savings to your checking account. Imagine buying a new car with a check! You will get there if you follow your budget.
